Not far from Highlands is the crossroads at Cashiers, North Carolina. Lots of quaint shops and such in this area and a few good restaurants and bars. This area is really the best in the Fall and Winter months but mostly we like the Fall here. We also had a plan to get a freshly, and personally, hewn Christmas tree to take back to our Florida household. After hunting one down and hacking it from its moorings, we garnered quite a thirst. Fortunately, this place was glaringly in the way. It has a really nice interior and exterior. Great outside sitting area in the sun next to a park. Ultimately relaxing.

Woosah Kolsch

  • They had many selections to choose from, but I wanted something a bit more refreshing and light, so I ended up choosing this lighter Kolsch to begin with. It unfortunately had a tad of fruitiness which is not my favorite thing, but it was nice and light which is what I was looking for.

Radio Silence IPA

  • This was a very nice lighter IPA which I chose to follow my Woosah Kolsch. I needed a bit more flavor, but IPAs are often too strong on the alcohol for me, so I chose a lower ABV in this one, a lighter hoppy beer for an IPA. Not too bad. Not a strong hoppiness but not a high ABV, so there’s a tradeoff on that.
